| A new regulation on nutrition and health claims made on foods has recently come into force in the EU (1924/2006/EC). This latest Synthesis Report from the European Food Information Resource (EuroFIR) Network of Excellence provides an overview of what the regulation includes and how it will work as well as giving background on previous nutrition and health claims guidelines in the EU and approaches around the world. The role of food composition data in being able to comply with and implement the new regulation is also investigated.
This will be an invaluable resource for those interested in finding out more about the new regulation and the area of nutrition and health claims in general.
