8th International Food Data Conference - Second announcement and call for abstracts:
 

"QUALITY FOOD COMPOSITION DATA: KEY FOR HEALTH AND TRADE"

Food composition data provide essential information on nutrients and non-nutrients in foods required in all food, nutrition and health programmes and activities.  They can be used for screening and selection of food varieties, raw materials, research and product development and for nutrition labeling.  The 8th IFDC is designed to recognise the quality of all aspects in the processes of food composition data production, compilation and use.  The three-day conference is a a pre-conference of the 19th International Congress of Nutrition (ICN-2009), and will highlight all efforts, experience, findings and activities with the aim to enhance the reliability of analytical data as well as to increase the availability and effective uses of food composition data.
  
  
Call for abstracts

Quality Food Composition Data: Key for Health and Trade” is the main theme of this conference in 2009. This forum welcomes abstracts which cover various areas related to the theme. These include, for example, quality systems and standards for data generation, compilation and evaluation; emerging techniques for analysis of nutrients and bioactive compounds; new food composition data; new technology for data compilation and applications; innovative use of food composition data; current activities on food composition at national and regional food data network.

Abstract submission: Abstract submission is possible from January 2009, and participants are encouraged to submit abstracts online as soon as possible to ensure early bird registration. Deadline for submission is 31st March 2009. Abstract sent by fax will not be accepted.

Acceptance of abstract: the Scientific Committee will evaluate the abstract. By 30th May 2009, the abstract presenter will be notified about the outcome of the evaluation.
The accepted abstract will appear in the Abstract book as submitted by the authors.

Conference Programme

The programme for the conference will be decided upon by the Scientific Advisory Committee and will consist of plenary lectures, oral presentations and poster sessions.

The registration for the congress is open from January 2009 until 31 August 2009.

Early bird international student (until 30 June 2009): THB 5,500

International participant after 30 June 2009: THB 12,000
International student after 30 June 2009: THB 6,500

International participant - onsite: THB 15,000
International student - onsite: THB 7,500
