EuroFIR AISBL (Association Internationale Sans But Lucratif) is a member-based international non-profit association of food composition data compilers, experts and stakeholders, based in Belgium.

The mission of EuroFIR AISBL is the scientifically based development, publication and exploitation of food composition data and accompanying information in order to support and underpin research into food quality and safety, as well as into health in Europe. In addition, the Association will become an interface between the national food database compiler organisations and laboratories producing the data, with users of food composition data from industry, academia and regulators. It will also seek to promote and develop quality assurance and traceability principles, considering implementing relevant international standards.

• Research & development offerings to respond to Calls for Proposals such as FP7 and other funding bodies using the combined and integrated input of the Association’s Members (e.g. as “sole partner” and/or as “group of partners”)
  
• Access to a network of food composition data compilers, stakeholders, food industry and other contacts worldwide.

The EuroFIR AISBL offering to industry, public sector funding bodies and regulators is a “one-stop shop” for any of the technology, know-how, and data access throughout Europe and beyond in the food composition area. Closely linked to public health professionals, the Association can foresee what food information will be needed by the users in the future. Its state-of-the-art knowledge related to the methods of analysis for the diverse components and the fundamental overview about existing composition data allows setting up quick solutions for any request related to the composition of foods.
